Chiropody v Podiatry

What is the difference between a Chiropodist and Podiatrist?
The simple answer is none. The Term Chiropodist was coined in the
late 19 th century. It was a combination of the Greek words for hands and feet.

Chiro meaning hand and Pod meaning foot. In the early day’s practitioners ,treated both hand and feet.

As the profession evolved it focused solely on the care of the feet. In
the 90’s to reflect the depth of practice and wide-ranging expertise
that Chiropodist’s were qualified to treat the term Podiatrist was
adopted. Wether you use the term Chiropodist or Podiatrist, you can
be assured you will receive a completely professional service,
tailored to provide you with healthy feet.
