Keeping Your Joints Healthy

Here at Compass Physio we are the experts when it comes to the body and of course all things biomes and Joints!

Healthy Joints

There are 206 Bones of the body and there are also a lot of joints.

Where your bones come together, there’s a joint that allows movement.

It might be a small range of motion like your big toe, or it could be a large range like your shoulder.

How much of that range you’re actually able to use is called joint mobility, and when it’s restricted, you usually run into stiffness, pain, or injury.

We all know the big ones like the knee and hip can cause problems.

We see more and more people now coming in with pain in the finger joints and feet.

Of course the most common joint issue we see is in the back and neck.

The Joints which are normally filled with fluid over time can get a little worn and that leads to that early morning stiffness.

As someone described it to me the other day, I feel like the tin man first thing in the morning.

Motion is Lotion for your Joints

With that in mind we often end of getting people started on a specific routine for them.

It could be some simple stretches for 5 minutes first thing in the morning.

It could be a full 30 minute workout.

Its tailored to your individual needs.

A Mobility Routine

Below are short video’s from Emer with a little routine that we often look to get people started on when it comes to getting the joints moving.

Why not give it a try!
